Abstract

Islamic psychology continues to evolve as an academic discipline that offers an integrative perspective on psychological and spiritual aspects. However, the application of Islamic psychological concepts in daily life still faces various challenges, particularly in shaping responsible behavior. This study aims to examine how the practice of prophetic leadership plays a role in shaping responsible behavior through the process of self-reflection. Prophetic leadership begins with an individual’s ability to lead and exercise self-control before influencing others by emulating prophetic traits, namely siddiq (truthfulness), amanah (trustworthiness and commitment), tabligh (effective and transparent communication), and fathanah (wisdom and intelligence). These four principles serve to optimize the role of the qalb as the control center of human thought and behavior. This study employed a qualitative approach involving three participants who applied best practices of prophetic leadership in their daily lives. The results indicate that the application of prophetic leadership fosters more responsible behavior through increased self-awareness and spiritual reflection. All three participants reported positive changes, including an increased sense of gratitude, a feeling of being closer to Allah, the habit of engaging in muhasabah, and an attitude of tawakkal when facing various life situations. These findings suggest that prophetic leadership can serve as an effective approach to character development and the cultivation of responsible behavior based on the values of Islamic psychology.
